Save One Life’s trekkers are united by a shared commitment to expanding access to care. Below, Sarah shares why she is participating in the 2026 Iceland Trek:
I’m so excited to be taking on an unforgettable trek through Iceland in support of Save One Life — an organization that has held a special place in my heart for over 10 years.
I am a proud mom of three amazing college kids who inspire me every single day. Watching them grow into the people they are becoming has been one of the greatest adventures of my life. They remind me constantly to be brave, to chase meaningful experiences, and to give back whenever possible.
I also have a deep and personal passion for the bleeding disorder community. My twin sons, who are 20 years old, were both born with severe Hemophilia A. Being their mom has given me a firsthand understanding of the strength, resilience, and challenges that families in this community face every single day. It has shaped our family’s journey in profound ways and opened my heart to a global community that feels like family.
Family means everything to me. I come from a big, close-knit family, and the love and support we share is the foundation of who I am. That sense of connection and care is one of the reasons this cause resonates so deeply with me.
I have always loved to travel and seek out new adventures. There’s something magical about exploring new places — whether it’s walking along a quiet beach, hiking in the mountains, watching a breathtaking sunset, waking up early for a peaceful sunrise, or standing in awe of nature’s beauty. I truly believe the world is full of incredible moments waiting to be experienced.
For the last 10 years, I have been a sponsor to a child like my own with Save One Life, supporting individuals and families affected by hemophilia. Through this journey, I have seen firsthand the life-changing impact that compassion and community can make. As a mom of two sons with severe Hemophilia A, this mission is not just important to me — it’s personal.
This trek in Iceland is more than just an adventure — it’s a commitment to continuing that support and raising vital funds to help children and families receive the care and resources they need.
I’m trekking not only for the adventure, but for hope, opportunity, and the belief that together we can make a difference — for families like mine and for so many others around the world.
Thank you for being part of this journey with me. Your support means more than you know.
