Cambodia Hemophilia Association

Located in the bustling capital city of Phnom Penh, the Cambodian Hemophilia Association (CHA) provides support and services for 154 patients across the country. The chapter has a total of 47 beneficiaries enrolled in the Save One Life sponsorship program, most of whom live in the northwest of the country and receive care at the reputed Angkor Hospital for Children in the city of Siem Reap.

CHA was founded in 2006 by Dr. Chean Sophal of the National Pediatric Hospital in Phnom Penh, who is only one of two hematologists in the country. He asked his patient and the oldest known person with hemophilia, Sithan Kong  (who was only in his 20’s at the time!) to help build the organization.

Today CHA is run by a small board of directors that oversees our programs in the capital, while Nurse Sung Sreng of the Angkor Hospital takes care of our beneficiaries in Siem Reap.
