On November 1, 2026, John Wambua Mueni of Kenya will take on the New York City Wheelchair Marathon, pursuing his dream of competing on an international stage while raising awareness of bleeding disorders around the world.

John lives with severe hemophilia A and experienced years of untreated joint bleeds that eventually left him using a wheelchair. He first received support from Save One Life as a sponsorship beneficiary and later received a scholarship that helped him pursue his education. With this support, John earned a degree in interior design, specializing in disability access. Today, he uses his skills to help make buildings more accessible in Kenya and gives back to his local bleeding disorder community.

John is also an accomplished wheelchair racer who has competed internationally for Team Kenya and won a race in Nairobi in 2025. Now, with a marathon bib provided by the National Bleeding Disorders Foundation, he is preparing to take on the streets of New York City.

Your support celebrates John's determination and helps Save One Life provide sponsorships, scholarships, and other vital resources to people with bleeding disorders in resource-limited countries. Together, we can help more individuals access opportunities, build brighter futures, and pursue their dreams.
