My Story

Hello!

My name is Tooba and I am 7 years old. I am in kindergarten where I love to draw and play with my friends. My school is only 1km from my home. On days that I cannot walk there, I get a ride on a motorbike. When I am not at school, my favorite things to do are to watch cartoons and play with my dolls. I think I would like to be a fashion designer when I grow up.

I have been diagnosed with von Willebrand disease. The nearest hospital is 7km from my home which takes us 25 minutes to reach on my father's motorbike.

I live with my parents and two older brothers in the city of Lahore, Pakistan. My father, Sohail, runs a small printing press. He earns $250 a month. My mother, Sana, stays home to take of me and my siblings. My brothers (Ayan - age 11, and Manan - age 8) are both students. Our family speaks the Urdu language. No one in our home is able to read or write in English. We live in a 4-room house that is equipped with basic amenities. Our meals are cooked on a countertop burner.

I have been a part of the sponsorship program since 2017. My previous sponsor recently discontinued their participation in the program and I am now in need of a new sponsor.
